This is a great evergreen shrub with waxy leaves making it able to handle sea salt laden winds by the coast. The leaves are strongly variegated apple green with a neat cream edging. The new growths in spring are golden edged. Best grown in full sun in free draining soil. Makes an excellent hedge.
An upright bush with bronze-tinted green foliage. Masses of single flowers with red tubes and sepals, dark purple petals.

The charming 'blue false indigo' from East America. The false indigo was grown as a cheap alternative to true indigo by the Cherokees for a source of blue dye. A deciduous perennial with glaucous blue foliage & lupin like spikes of dark blue flowers in summer, followed by black seed pods. Best in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy & easy.
