Erythrina crista galla 'Compacta'

A stunning compact form of the species. Spectacular when in flower, with  long heads of very big, intense crimson, waxy pea flowers in late summer from coral buds. Originally from South America, it is indeed frost-sensitive, but it regrows from the stump in spring after -10°C  with a protective mulch. Easy to cultivate in mild climates and elsewhere in pots to be stored frost-free. 2ltr pot
